These are the terms that apply when you buy from or use The Jam Kitchen — written clearly so you actually know what they say.
These terms of service apply to all purchases made through The Jam Kitchen website, at markets and events, or via wholesale arrangements. By placing an order or completing a purchase, you agree to these terms.
The Jam Kitchen is operated as a sole trader based in Truro, Cornwall. You can contact us at thejamkitchenco@gmail.com or via the contact form.
These terms don't affect your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.
When you place an order through our website, you'll receive an order confirmation by email. This confirmation is an acknowledgement that we've received your order — it does not yet constitute acceptance.
Your order is accepted, and a contract formed, when we dispatch your goods and send you a dispatch confirmation. We reserve the right to decline any order, for example if a product is out of stock or if we are unable to process payment.
We make every effort to keep product listings accurate and up to date, but as a small-batch producer, availability can vary. If an item you've ordered is unavailable, we'll contact you as soon as possible to offer an alternative or a full refund.
All products are made in small batches. Occasionally a product may sell out between your order and our dispatch. We'll always let you know promptly if this happens.
All prices shown on the website are in pounds sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable. Delivery costs are shown separately at checkout.
We accept payment by major debit and credit cards. Payment is taken at the time of ordering. All transactions are processed securely — we do not store card details.
We reserve the right to update our prices at any time. The price you pay is the price shown at the time you placed your order.
We dispatch orders within 1–2 working days of receiving payment. Standard UK delivery typically takes a further 2–4 working days, though we cannot guarantee specific delivery dates once an order is with our courier.
We ship to UK addresses only. Delivery costs are calculated at checkout based on order size and destination.
We take care to pack all orders securely, but if something arrives damaged please contact us with a photo and we will arrange a replacement or refund promptly. See our Refund Policy for full details.
Risk in the goods passes to you upon delivery. If a delivery attempt is made and you are not available, the courier will leave instructions for redelivery or collection.
We offer a click & collect option for customers who would prefer to collect their order in person rather than have it delivered. Collection details, including the agreed location and time, will be confirmed by email after your order is placed.
Orders must be collected within the agreed timeframe. If you are unable to collect, please let us know as soon as possible so we can make alternative arrangements.
No delivery charge applies to click & collect orders. Payment is taken online at the time of ordering in the usual way.
We offer free local delivery to TR1 postcodes. This option is available at checkout and is delivered personally by us — not a courier service.
Because this is a personal delivery service, we cannot guarantee a specific delivery date or time window. Deliveries will take place when we are available to do so. We will always aim to deliver promptly and will contact you in advance where possible to let you know when to expect your order.
If you'd like your order left in a safe place, please include instructions when checking out or contact us after placing your order. We're happy to accommodate this — however, please note that once an order has been left in a location you have designated as safe, it is your responsibility. We cannot accept liability for items that go missing or are damaged after being left as instructed.
If we are unable to deliver (for example, no one is home and no safe place has been specified), we will contact you to arrange a convenient time to redeliver.
Sales made at markets, food fairs, and other events are final at the point of purchase. We accept card and cash payments in person.
If you purchase a product at a market and find it to be faulty or not as described, please contact us and we will do our best to resolve the issue. Your statutory rights are not affected.
Market dates and locations are listed on our Find Us page and updated regularly. Occasionally events may be cancelled or rescheduled due to circumstances beyond our control — we'll always update our website and social channels as soon as we know.
Wholesale orders are subject to separate terms agreed at the time of the first order. The following general principles apply to all trade relationships:
For any wholesale-specific queries, please get in touch.
Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, you have the right to cancel an online order within 14 days of receiving your goods, without giving a reason. To exercise this right, please contact us within 14 days of delivery.
As our products are perishable food items, the right to cancel does not apply once a product has been opened or used. Unopened products returned in their original condition within 14 days will be refunded in full, minus any return postage costs unless the item is faulty.
If you wish to cancel an order before it has been dispatched, please contact us as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate this.
For full details on returns and refunds, please see our Refund Policy.
We take pride in the quality of everything we make, and we stand behind our products. However, to the extent permitted by law:
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
If you have an allergy or dietary requirement, please check all product labels carefully before consuming. Full ingredient information is available on every product page and on the jar label. If you are in any doubt, please contact us before ordering.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of The Jam Kitchen will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. The current version will always be published on this page with the date it was last updated. Continued use of our website or services following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
If you have any questions about these terms, please get in touch — we're always happy to clarify anything.
